When I ask people what brand of rice cooker they prefer, Zojirushi always comes up in their responses. This says a lot about the quality of these rice cookers. Zojirushi rice cookers dominate the market in Japan, and they’re increasingly become popular in many parts of the globe. I’ve used some cookers before and I was very disappointed.

These rice cookers by Zojirushi sport some nice features. Zojirushi has something for people with tight budget or people who don’t need extra features. Zojirushi also has great rice cookers that sport the most technologically advanced features. Whether you’re a single person, a couple, or a family, Zojirushi offers the rice cooker that will perfectly fit your needs.

Zojirushi has a lot of useful features throughout their rice cooker series. Below are the features that I really like:

Fuzzy Logic technology

A lot of Zojirushi rice cookers sport Fuzzy Logic technology. Actually, nearly all mid- to high-end Zojirushi rice cooker models sport this feature. If you’re very picky about the way the rice turns out, then get a Zojirushi rice cooker that has the Fuzzy Logic technology.

What’s Neuro Fuzzy? It’s the newest Fuzzy logic version. The Fuzzy Logic and the Neuro Fuzzy technologies work well. Rice cookers that feature Neuro Fuzzy technology are able to update the temperature and time regularly. This technology makes sure that you cook your rice just fine. This technology also helps lessen the effects of poor measuring and other human errors.

Induction heating feature

The induction heating technology is present in the top of the line Zojirushi products. Induction heating means consistent heating, thus consistent rice cooking. The induction heating system is a great feature since it makes sure that the cooking is uniform on the edge and center of your cooker. A rice cooker with this technology will make great rice.

Warming feature

Warming technology is one of the selling points of any Zojirushi rice cooker. All but a chosen few come with warming features these days. I say go for rice cookers with a warming feature. At the very least, rice cookers with this feature keeps your rice warm for many hours after cooking it.

Some Zojirushi rice cookers can even re-warm your rice. So reheating the rice and other food in your rice cooker would be easy. Here’s a tip: use only the warming feature if you’re cooking rice more than the usual amount. Using the re-warming feature can dry your rice out if you’re cooking one or two cups of rice. And dry rice is a no-no for me.

Innovation

I like the rice cookers from Zojirushi because they try to innovate. According to Zojirushi, the Rizo, their newest model, has a design that perfectly suits the western kitchen. The leading rice cooker maker also has the great ‘i-pot’. The great thing about this innovative rice cooker is that it can text you on your mobile phone in case you haven’t  cooked with it for quite some time.
