Garden cooking is an excellent way of enjoying good open meals amidst the scenic wonders of your garden, whether it is artificial or natural. The charm of eating outdoors with friends and family is unbeatable. In fact, many a family problem has been resolved over a good barbecue and a cheap gas barbecue is good enough for such events.

You do not really need fancy expensive appliances to stir up some camaraderie and family bonding. There is also nothing like giving an aura of romance for a party of three or four couples when the temperature is just what one would really love to be enclosed within. A barbecue can also be enjoyed by older people, or by the younger generation who can sometimes take a break from their regular diet of soda and fries. For the barbecue to withstand the onslaught of frequent preparation of splendid meals, the make should be preferably of cast iron with good features like side burners or rear burners.

If you have your child in the kitchen, you are not just teaching them to prepare food but you are teaching them how to help you in the chores that makes your son or daughter more responsible specially in eating healthy food.

You can plan your recipe for the whole day. Children can be choosy in eating food but, it is the chance that you can have a bonding time with your children and plan your next healthy meal. Allowing them to plan your food for the next meal is giving them the opportunity to decide in choosing good meals for your family and it will make them eat more the food they’ve planned and prepare from peeling vegetables, preparing food until it’s cooked.

· Remember, the food will be hot! Be careful when removing from the appliance
· Never use your microwave if the door does not close completely or there are any other defects
· If you cover the food being cooked, be sure to leave it vented so steam can come out naturally
· Don’t use any metal utensils
· Use only “microwave safe” dishes
· Follow recommended cooking times. If the time is a range (5-7 minutes for example), start with the lower time.

Always remember that teaching them to choose good food is not to pressure them. It is a long-term goal that a child can take until they grow up to choose the right food to eat and teaching them to eat right is a way of keeping them healthy.
